Okay, I’m trying out a new theme. I figure nothing says “NOOB” more than a blog with Kubrick. Of course, now I have to change all my gallery pages to match. Goodie! Well, hell, it was bound to happen. Of course, I’m still not thrilled with the new theme since it doesn’t have a place for me to put a trademark “Funakatown” kind of image.
I have to figure out how to get some visuals onto my page so you know right off that it’s a model-building site, mainly for mecha. Right now this could pretty much be a boring business website.
It’s still a big improvement.
It’s kinda dumb to post about this, since I just rolled out my galleries. But the truth is, I forgot about the Sazabi I just finished. So now its gallery has been added to the Completed Models Launchpad.
Oh, and as long as I’m blogging, here’s my new project that I’m trying to build for the Fichtenfoo Forum’s 31 Days model build. It’s a Hasegawa 1/48th P-51D Mustang and a Tamiya 1/48 Citroen car. The idea is that the Mustang will be buzzing the Citroen. I have a set of decals to do the Mustang as “Creamer’s Dream”, a redtail Mustang of the Tuskegee Arimen.
The contest requires the model to be started and finished in 31 days and that the model should be in a diorama/vignette. This build will do three things for me. It will make me build fast, something I’m getting a little better at. It will make me make a naturalistic diorama, something I’ve never done, and it will let me build an airplane again, something I haven’t done in almost 2 years.
What you don’t see below was an experiment in gallery posting. I deleted it because it screwwed the whole page up and put the links down at the bottom below a long stream of pictures. It’s not really practical to put galleries in your everyday post, so I’ve created stand-alone gallery pages. I’ve linked them and used the same (lame) theme throughout, so the average viewer won’t even be aware that they’ve left the realm of wordpress and entered my own pages. Just click on the “Completed Models Launchpad” link on the right and from there you can access the galleries of all my completed models. Now that I have this worked out, it shouldn’t take long to get my WIPs in order.
